Super flumina Babylonis - Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina 1525- 1594

This iconic, choral masterpiece is taken from Psalm 137
 'By the waters of Babylon we sat down and wept: when we remembered thee, O Sion.
 As for our harps, we hanged them up: upon the trees that are therein.'
 
In the workshop we will look at bringing together your personal sense of what this piece draws from your voice, in terms of spirit, vocal approach, musicianship, meaning and harmonic movement. 
 
We will also look at the best way to learn choral lines at home. This is relevant to you whether you are in a choir or not as the approach is transferable directly to other types of song.
